chivalrous thoughts.

i'm the type of guy that will go out of his way to open or hold a door for somebody. it's partly my nature and partly the way my mother realized me. however, i find it pretty frustrating to complete an act of kindness like this and receive no acknowledgment for this. seriously though...are you breaths that important that you cant mutter thank you? is your neck that stiff that you can't give me a head flick at the bare-minimum? c'mon now.

then i got-to-thinking...am i rude if i don't acknowledge their acknowledgment? if someone says, "thank you," are we required to say, "you're welcome" as a rhetorical response? i found it to be an interesting internal debate that i couldn't draw a conclusion for.

so ask yourself...who is more rude, the person who doesn't say, "thank you" or the one who doesn't say, "you're welcome?"
